A Confession

I went for confession today, as the preparation for Christmas. It is a time of reflection on how I have lived and how I am going to answer Him when He comes.

Confession is a very embarrassing time.

Any idea why? Is it because we are going to tell our darkest secret to the priest? Or is it because we are sharing our evil doing with someone whom is not so close o us, a secret which we didn’t even tell our best friend or spouse? No, none of the above is my concern. It’s just that I’m too embarrassed to face Him.

I kept making the same pledge and later broke it again and again. SIGH. A friend of mine once asked why we still go to purgatory although we made confessions and penances. Now I think I know why.  And I feel that I ought to work much harder even just to get qualified to enter purgatory. Oh my God… have mercy!

I do believe, all over the world, it’s only inside a church where everyone mind to queue up properly. There were long queues in front of every priest. These were the people who want to make their confession. Amazingly they queued without making much complaint, though those last few person at the end of queue some may need to wait up to 30 – 45 minutes before they reached their turn.  Seriously, this is something which I can see just inside the church. It could be that they have left the evil inside them outside in the parking lot. This explains why as soon as they are back inside their cars, they started to jump queue again.

The Christmas mood is thick in the air. The Church is well decorated.

After the confession, I dropped by to say hello to the choir group. They were having their choir practice.
