A Night

It is all quiet.

The voices in my head is silent again. I believe they must had went to rest early tonight. It is a very tiring day indeed. Tired from trying not to fall asleep while feeling sleepy in the office in the afternoon.

Without the voice inside my head, I can hear very clearly the noises round me. Dogs are barking. One car is reversing. My neighbour is watching tv. More dogs barking.

Finally I decided to have Richard Clayderman’s melody to cheer up the atmosphere. Closed my eyes for a few seconds and instantly I’m inside the wonderland. Inside, he is busy with his piano. His fingers were dancing like butterflies.

Eyes opened, one eye. Another is still closed.

Where am I? Grabbed the handphone, looked at the time. Oh, why it still reads p.m. instead of a.m. Why am I sitting on a chair? Clayderman, where’s he? Where’s the pianist? And where I am?

P/s:  At the time of writing, the writer believed that he is inside his dream. Therefore he decided to go back to sleep so that he can wake up from the dream. Before he left, he managed to have a dance with music.

Weight

After had our lunch together, my two colleagues  decided to drop by at a nearby supermarket.

Having nothing to buy, I volunteered to wait outside the supermarket to look after the cakes we had just bought.

After a short while, one of them walked out. Seeing that there was a weighing machine nearby, I informed her that I wanted to weight myself.

“Let me help you with these cakes. Otherwise they will give you extra weight”, she volunteered.

Letting her hold the cakes, I stood onto the machine and inserted 20 cents into it. It read 69.8 kg.

“It’s not accurate”, I murmured. I recalled the scale in my house read 71 kg last night.

“Don’t worry, it could be due to you ate too much just now”, she consoled. (@@)

Feast Day

Today is the feast day for the holy archangels St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael. This means it is my feast day too! Yay! I can’t believe that I am happier than my own birthday today!

Feast Day

The day looked more beautiful and cheerful than usual. The spirit is unusually high and full of joy since the morning thanksgiving mass.

I think I like angels and that’s the reason I had chosen St. Raphael as my baptism name and St. Michael as my confirmation name. They are always around us, watched over us and act as mediator between God and us.

Archangel Raphael is presented to us in the Sacred Scripture in the Book of Tobit. St. Raphael, which means “God is Remedy”, performed two tasks of healing; he drove out demons from a lady whose marriage is repeatedly destroyed and he healed a man of his sightless eyes.

We can find Archangel Michael in the Book of Daniel, in the Letter of the Apostle St. Jude Thaddeus and in the Book of Revelation. St. Michael, which means “Who is like God” is the defender and protector of the church and People of God.

May St Raphael and St Michael will be my advocate and watch over the safety of my body and soul. Similarly by taking them as my baptism and confirmation name, I pray that I will be able to imitate their virtues and holiness. Amen.

Prayer to St. Raphael

Blessed Saint Raphael, Archangel,
We beseech thee to help us in all our needs and trials of this life,
as thou, through the power of God, didst restore sight and give guidance to young Tobit.
We humbly seek thine aid and intercession,
that our souls may be healed,
our bodies protected from all ills,
and that through divine grace we may be made fit to dwell in the eternal Glory of God in heaven. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael

Saint Michael, Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Morning Kiss

The cool morning breeze kissed my face and my bare hands. Refreshing. Cool. Excited. The sky was still dark and the stars were dancing on the sky.

Compared to the same ride and on the same route some 10 years ago, though not longer the same motorbike –  those days when I was still in my secondary school, I discovered that the breeze had lost it’s magical touch.

In those days, the morning air is the most refreshing air in the whole world. It contains pure morning mist. A ride on such a morning will make my body dance uncontrollably. Yes, the magic of a cold misty morning’s breeze. A morning kiss from Mother Nature. Sometimes when the speed is right, the jaws will vibrate in synchronize with the dancing body.

I can’t actually remember when I last enjoyed this magic but I know this magic touch had somehow lost forever in this place.

Five minutes later I reached the chapel. It is not any ordinary chapel. I stepped into here some 8 years ago. That’s the day I found myself and my Creator. And in this place too, many beautiful memories of my younger days lived on.

Ah, life is beautiful, especially when you once in a while secretly stole some of your present time to live in the past for a moment.
